Netflix is simply the most popular streaming service of our time. Many of the best series and movies are available on it. Netflix has now even ventured into producing anime acknowledging its immense popularity. With that said, today we are going to look at the best anime for adults that are available on the streaming service. Please keep in mind that we have restricted ourselves to just anime that are r-rated and mature. These are not Hentai. Let’s also be clear that just because these movies on this list have sexual content and sometimes graphic nudity doesn’t necessarily mean they are not good. Here is a list of some of the best adult anime series on Netflix.
10. Baki (2018)
Look, I have seen the earlier ‘Baki‘ arcs and they were entertaining. It is a typical shounen manga about a teenager by the name of Baki Hanma who wants to be the best fighter in the entire world But to get that title he needs to work extra hard since the one who currently holds the title is his dad Yujiro Hanma. Though I am not such a fan of the latest arc of the franchise it is the only one on Netflix. After watching it I think it is entertaining enough to be on this list but if you are a fan of ‘Baki: The Grappler’ and other stuff from over two decades ago then you will feel that this is a downgrade. The animation is better than the previous arcs though.
There are a total of 26 episodes in this Original Net Animation (yes, it does not follow the manga), with each episode being 24 minutes in length. In this series too we see Baki training tirelessly to become a better version of himself to become the strongest fighter in the world. But his fame brings in some unwanted visitors who want to test his skills. These are five of the most dangerous criminals in the world who find their life boring because no one can defeat them. So, they come to fight Baki. Get ready for an action-filled anime where Baki and his friends fight against the most dangerous criminals on Earth. Watch it here.
9. Japan Sinks: 2020 (2020)
After an earthquake rocks the entire Japanese archipelago, the entire southeast Asian nation is on its knees within a few hours. With the country literally sinking slowly, people run for cover, and the large crowds of survivors include the peaceful Mutou family. Unfortunately, the odds are stacked heavily against their survival as one tragedy strikes the desperate family after another. As people die around them because of hunger, exhaustion, and accidents, can the Mutou’s survive the worst of faces of natural calamity? The series addresses the question in a very compelling and innovative way as the anime is highly engaging to watch. However, in all the chaos, there are several episodes where the characters get to experience a sense of normalcy. One of them includes an intense lovemaking scene that should only be watched by a mature audience. If you wish to watch the science-fiction drama show, all the episodes are accessible here.
8. Fruits Basket (2019-2021)
Based on the manga series of the same name by Natsuki Takaya, ‘Fruits Basket’ is not an explosively sexual anime. Instead, its narrative is suggestive, subtle, and dense with serious themes. The story revolves around Tooru Honda, an orphaned high-school girl who has recently become homeless and unknowingly begins to live on the property of the affluent Souma family. When her classmate Yuki Souma and his cousin Shigure discover this and learn what has happened to her, they invite her to stay with them. Not long after, she meets Kyou, another cousin of Yuki, and discovers that certain members of the Souma family are burdened with the Zodiac curse, which transforms them into different Zodiac animals whenever they are feeling weak, stressed, or being embraced by a person of the opposite gender. As the series progresses and her relationships with various members of the Souma family grow, Tooru resolves to help them by breaking the curse.
7. Great Pretender (2020– )
The sexiness of ‘Great Pretender’ relies on how sleek the main bunch of criminals are. The ONA is an original anime that follows a team of con artists who travel across the world conning questionable people, following the codes established the group’s leader, Laurent Thierry. A French native, Laurent is charming, persuasive, and a top-class thief. It’s a good thing that Laurent has decided to use his talents for relatively positive things, otherwise, he could have undone human society as we know it. The protagonist of the story is Makoto Edamura, a Japanese con man recruited into the group by Laurent. It is while being part of Laurent’s team that Makoto meets Abigail Jones, who lost her parents during the Baghdad bombing. In the course of the series, a complex relationship begins to take shape between Abigail and Makoto.
6. Beastars (2019-)
Developed from a manga series written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki, ‘Beastars’ take place in a world inhabited by civilized, anthropomorphic animals. A distinctive cultural difference exists between carnivores and herbivores. Because meat can only come from herbivores, its consumption is illegal. That doesn’t mean that one can’t obtain it through illegal methods. The plot revolves around Legoshi, a large gray wolf, and his complex relationships with two herbivores: Haru, a dwarf rabbit, and Louis, a red deer. Legoshi develops romantic feelings for Haru, who was previously dating Louis. In such a fragmented society, Legoshi and Haru must face numerous obstacles to be together. ‘Beastars’ unfolds like an adult morality play as social issues are depicted through anthropomorphic animals. There are also a few sexual-themed scenes in the ‘Beastars,’ rounding up its layered narrative.
5. Dragon’s Dogma (2020 -)
After his brutal death, a man is resurrected as Arisen and seeks revenge from the dragon who stole his heart. But as he confronts one demon after another on his long road of vengeance, he runs the risk of losing his humanity in the process. The dark fantasy anime captures his journey as he rises from dead and decides to take back his honor, but can he achieve his seemingly impossible goals? While the drama that unfolds is surely worth watching, there are a number of implied lovemaking scenes, along with other fanservice moments, that you may find interesting. In case you wish to learn how the story of revenge unfolds, you can stream all the anime here.

Developed from the video game ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ by CD Projekt Red, ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ is set in the futuristic Night City, California, known for violent crime and widespread corruption. The protagonist of the story is David Martinez, a seemingly ordinary teenager who finds a military speedware. David encounters a mysterious girl named Lucy, who guides him into the world of edgerunners. There are plenty of nudity and sex scenes littered across the narrative of the series. 1. Castlevania (2017-2021)
Although ‘Castlevania’ is technically the result of a collaborative effort between American and South Korean animation studios, Japanese animation and Ayami Kojima’s artwork have served as major sources of inspiration for the animation and the art style in the series. Based on the Konami video game of the same name, ‘Castlevania revolves around three people, Trevor Belmont, the scion of the monster-hunting Belmont family, Adrian “Alucard” Țepeș, a dhampir or a child born from the union between a human and a vampire, and Sypha Belnades, a witch hailing from the nomadic group known as Speakers. They band together when they discover that Vlad Dracula Țepeș, who happens to be Alucard’s father, intends to destroy humanity by killing his wife. The series is littered with passionate, sensual sequences, but they reach their zenith in season 3 when a lonely Alucard lets a pair of twins from a land far away stay at his home.
